The Research Management Centre (RMC) is pleased to share an exciting funding opportunity for researchers and industry players. The Industry Linkage Fund (ILF) by the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry in the rubber sector, driving innovation and commercialization of new rubber-based technologies.
Proposal Submission Period:
- Open: Proposals can be submitted throughout the year.
- Close: No specific closing date; submissions are ongoing.
Research Focus Areas: The ILF supports projects that aim to enhance the competitiveness of Malaysian rubber products in the global market. Priority research areas include:
- Latex-based products
- Dry rubber products
- Automation and process improvement
- Application of rubber in infrastructure and construction
- Solid waste reclamation/management
- Wastewater treatment
- Green and sustainable technology
- Energy saving
- Advanced manufacturing
Who Can Apply? The fund is open to researchers employed on a permanent or contractual basis with the following Malaysian organizations:
- Public and private institutions of higher learning
- Research institutions
- Registered industries
Grant Amount: The maximum funding available is up to RM300,000 for both full grants and matching grants.
Research Duration: Projects should be completed within a duration not exceeding 3 years from the commencement date.
How to Apply: To apply for the ILF:
- Prepare a “Preliminary Proposal” outlining your research brief.
- Submit the proposal via the MRC ILF online system. Please note: The online application system is currently under maintenance.
- Ensure your project includes an industry collaborator, as this is a mandatory requirement.
