Call for Applications: Nagao Natural Environment Foundation (NEF) Research Grant Programme 2025

The Nagao Natural Environment Foundation (NEF) invites applications for its 2025 Research Grant Programme, aimed at supporting young researchers in developing countries within the Asia-Pacific region.  Programme Overview

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be nationals of developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region (e.g., Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, etc.)
  • Be either:
    • Researchers with at least three years of research experience and sufficient achievements in their field, working full-time at a research institution or relevant organization
    • Full-time doctoral students enrolled at a research institution
  • Be under 40 years of age
  • Possess sufficient research experience and skills to conduct and manage the proposed research
  • Be able to communicate in English
  • Not have another application submitted to the NEF
  • Not have another ongoing NEF-funded project at the time of application submission

 Research Focus

The proposed research project must:​nagaofoundation.or.jp

  • Be scientific research contributing to the nature conservation of the country where the applicant currently works or studies
  • Focus primarily on living organisms
  • Be carried out in the applicant’s home country
  • Involve fieldwork for data collection
  • Be the applicant’s own research work (team projects are ineligible)
  • Achieve its objectives and submit interim and/or final reports within a scheduled project period of not less than one year and not more than two years
  • Be exclusively funded by the NEF Research Grant Programme​WeMakeScholars+3LinkedIn+3Home – Terra Viva Grants+3

  1. Two copies of a completed Application Form (one in MS Word and the other in PDF)
  2. A filled Budget and Timetable (Excel format)
  3. A filled Applicant’s Background (Word format)
