Description
Emerging countries account for almost 40% of the world’s GDP at purchasing power while the value of the markets of these countries is soaring. Even the COVID-19 pandemic and economic turmoil due to Russia and Ukraine have not impacted much on the growth of the emerging markets. Thus, they continue to grow vigorously at more than 7% per annum on average over the past 6 years. Increased foreign direct investment in these countries, as well as the local social demographic dividend, have been driving continuous economic and infrastructure growth in these countries. region is also rich in its human and natural resources, and this attracts the attention of global business and management stakeholders. However, the business organisations in these countries are under pressure to align with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in their predictions and service operations to safeguard the world from climate change. In this regard, management practitioners have been taking various measurements to abide by the SDGs, but these have both positive and negative impacts on employee management and the performance level of organisations. Furthermore, changing technologies and the emergence of industry 4.0 and cyber-physical production and operational systems have also had a significant impact on individual employees and organisational operations and performance. Therefore, governments and organisations are taking various measures to align all the issues for the smoother economic growth of the emerging countries.
However, the success of both government and business organisations can be sustainable if they give attention to specific issues relating to business and management in this region. Therefore, we seek chapter contributions for this book, envisioning to offer the latest literature, theories, and case studies about business and management issues in emerging countries in one handbook. Hence, this book creates avenues for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to contribute with chapters covering areas of business management issues, especially relating to emerging countries.
The editors expect that the book will be used as a significant source and reference for scholars, teachers, and practitioners relating to business and management in the emerging region. Contributors may contribute to the chapters highlighting the contextual forces that influence employees, managers, and businesses in the region. Research about the impact of macro issues such as politics, culture, climate change, sustainability, technology, gender, remote work issues, regulation, and laws is highly encouraged. Moreover, chapters relating to the individual and internal issues of organisations, such as leadership styles of managers, attitude, emotional intelligence, women’s empowerment, behavior, employee entrepreneurial behavior, corporate social responsibility (CSR), centralization and decentralisation of authority, power, recruitment and selection rationality, intuition, evidence-based management (EBM), Management by Objectives (MBO), ethics and morality, control, communication, and so on are highly encouraged to be submitted for this book’s successful accomplishment.
